Re: Barefoot Boy. When I was getting into LC, I wasn't determined about this one. At the time, it seemed readily available at Amazon.com and the local Aomeba Records. When I later found out the track listing and got really interested, it disappeared. Now it's impossible to find. Hopefully the retrospective DVD will generate interest and these CD's will be in print again.

I don't think he will be in Europe soon. But I definitly hope so. I also hope he will visit The Netherlands soon...

Hi, I've just signed up. I'm a really big fan of Larry and his beautiful music and I wonder if he will play any Concerts in Germany some time. I'm from Hamburg and I get very low information about Jazz Concerts. Does anyone of you know about plans Larry Coryell touring Germany. Hamburg is a great place to play a concert.

CORYELL - Larry Coryell
by DiamondDog on Tuesday 08 November 2005  CORYELL is without any doubt one of the best albums Larry Coryell ever made. It's an album with an hard rockedge. It's one of my first album of him. CORYELL is much harder than LADY CORYELL. This album contains a lot of great guest musicians like Bernard Purdi (dr), Ron Carter (b), Mike Mandel (k). These musicians bring Larry to a higher level. Proof of this, is for example 'The Jam With Albert'. A great track with a good beat of Bernard Purdie and a dancing bass riff of Albert Stinson. Larry Coryell plays a steamy solo and sounds as hard as it can be. 'Sex' is a fun track to listen. Really psychedelic and a disstorted voice of Larry. 'No One Really Knows' is also a real gem of CORYELL. It starts with some laidback vocals of Larry, but continues with a great instrumental. Beautiful solo of Larry. Other songs are great examples of simple tunes, but very beatiful jazzrock songs. CORYELL is an album you must have in your collection. This album is the beginning of the big Fusion-hype. Again, the vocals of Larry isn't that strong, but the feelings and intensions are good. The guitarplay of Larry Coryell is of course amazing and it's one of the best! Rating:
