watched a video of Larry, Alphonzo and Bunny Burnell (?) playing at Musicians Institute in 1989. Unbelievable stuff. had me hootin and hollarin in the library! With the trio's performance of "Stella By Starlight," I learned the real meaning of "the power trio." The fusion stuff was enethical. Still trying to collect the pieces of my mind after that one.

great book. great read. very insiteful. maybe what I needed to hear at this stage of my life. great connect to the innummerable artists of music and their history.

The DVD is great. The rehearsal footage of Morning sickness is funky and loose. Would be a great promo for the whole set.

Went back for the third and last night at Ronnie's in Soho. So glad I did, the set flowed with excellent, muscular playing from all. RR

Just got back from seeing Larry at Ronnie's in London. A slightly thin house, and a tentative start, explained later by the fact he had eaten some dodgy food. But by a third in, the whole thing gelled, with a great Dragon's gate and a wonderful Spaces (Revisited) anmd excellent work from Mark Egan. Larry invited his wife to be Tracy (sp?) on stage and I feared the worst, but she can really sing and her presence seemed to inspire him further. A great night. Of course, I wished he'd played something from Fairyland or Barefoot Boy, but that's a quibble. Come back soon. RR

And what do you mean? Which song? Do you mean 'Souls Dirge'? Or 'Morning Sickness'?
