Thank you, darazn1. That's a good question. I was standig right before him during his performance. But I can't identify the brand of the guitars. I couldn't take a good look. Sorry...

Great pictures, Daimond! What kind of guitar is Larry playing in these photos? Acoustic with an interesting cut. Beautiful guitar. What is it?

Thanks for sharing your pictures from the North Sea Festival, DiamondDog! Is that you in the Mahavishnu T-shirt? Did Tracy get up and sing? Did Larry and Tracy get married yet? Do tell us all about the show. You were looking forward to it so much! Doei! Ali in New Hampshire, who hasn't been to Holland for six years and misses it

Hey Larry - Glad to see that you are gigging with Brian Auger. IMHO you always play at the level of your bandmates. The Wertico/Egan trio, the Cause and Effect band, and the two Spaces groups brought out your best (not to mention duets with Phil Catherine). Hope you "electric" vacation is a thing of the past.

I still vivdly recall how John Hart's eyes seems to spring out of his head like those halowwen glasses when he tore into that solo in Morning Sickness. See the video.

Tupelo Music Hall, June 1, 2006~~ Larry's performance tonight was something else! While a violent thunderstorm raged outside, the Tupelo Music Hall in Londonderry, NH made a cosy, intimate backdrop for an incredible show. Dave and I had the best seats in the house, two feet from the stage. The audience was enthralled.
The two-hour set included Larry's own compositions, with touching tributes to fellow fusion pioneer Steve Marcus who died last year, as well as unique treatments of standards by Thelonius Monk, George Gershwin, Duke Ellington, and the Beatles. Fianceé Tracy joined Larry on stage for a rocking, rolling blues number. She has a soulful, lyrical voice.
The finale was an ambitious undertaking: a passionate rendition of Ravel's Bolero. We are rather generous with our standing ovations in New Hampshire but tonight it was well deserved.
After the show Larry signed autographs, posed for photos, and talked to fans.

Yes, Larry is a very friendly guy but at gigs there are always people wanting to get his attention which limits the length of a conversation
DiamondDog on Tuesday 30 May 2006 - 09:35:53
lol, darazn1. no, but seriously... is there a chance to meet him after his performance?
darazn1 on Tuesday 30 May 2006 - 08:43:43
Chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo to meet with him.
DiamondDog on Tuesday 30 May 2006 - 07:20:01
No messages again?? Impossible! lol
Has anyone ever met Larry Coryell in person? And is it always possible to meet him after his performance??
Can someone confirm: Larry Coryell is sitting in with Les Paul tonight at Iridium in NYC? 10 p.m. To you lucky bastards, I hope you go and have stories to share with all of us! Happy trails!
Just finished IMPROVISING, great job Larry ! Been an avid fan since '72. Foreplay at the Twelfth Gate in Atlanta!!! The Firebird Suite at Lawndale Art Annex in Houston!!! With Steve Kahn at Alex Cooley's Electric Ballroom!!! On and on, thanks for the memories, it's been a great ride. Just like it takes several decades for the laws to catch up with cultural morality, so it is that sometimes it takes decades for the culture to catch up with an artist. So many extraordinary albums, Offering, Real Great Escape, Spaces, Planet End, The Lion and the Ram, Together, Return, et.al. So much passion for the music ! Such a master of the instrument ! Thanks for all the great music, and may there be many more years to come !
I agree with hikiate Fairyland is an incredible CD. Irecently discovered it, and I have almost all of Mr. Coryells work. Also Bob I second the true blues cd. Also beware of Larry's son Julien has a new power trio CAST, saw them live and they have a great new cd. Julien is carrying on nicely in his dads footsteps.
I just found this site and I'm glad I did! I met Larry at a clinic he did at a MARS music store in Marietta, GA. I bought just about everything he had for sale that day, hahaha. Sadly, I missed the 'Spaces Revisited' gig he did at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta with Lagrene, Bona and Chambers. Is there any live footage of that tour? What I wouldn't give to see that..!!!!
