isn't there a possibillity to contact a record label to re-issue some of Larry Coryell's catalog? Like for example Barefoot Boy?

darazn1: Barefoot Boy is available on Amazon. Expensive but worth it, one of my favs.

Re: Barefoot Boy. When I was getting into LC, I wasn't determined about this one. At the time, it seemed readily available at Amazon.com and the local Aomeba Records. When I later found out the track listing and got really interested, it disappeared. Now it's impossible to find. Hopefully the retrospective DVD will generate interest and these CD's will be in print again.

Soon I will put some more reviews of some recordings. Just some patience, please...

I don't think he will be in Europe soon. But I definitly hope so. I also hope he will visit The Netherlands soon...

Should a guitar player learn notes? Does corryell know the notes? I just can't visualize how would the notes look like if you would get every tone of his and write it to piece of paper ,or mclaughlin's or hendrixses tunes...

Learn the notes than forget them. Sightreading and notes are good for providing structure and form when presenting ideas. But, having said that, play with wild abandon and taste!

I think it's because LC didn't have a real site for years so people gave-up. I just searched on a whim and found this one.

That's right swan, there's no shortage of L.C. fans as evidenced at recent concerts. I agree with Oz's theary. Larry reads OK he say's but not as well as he once did. I sure he would also agree with Oz.

Here in Ourense (Galicia-Spain-Europe) LC got maybe one of the younger group of hardcore fans worldwide. And as one fan leads to two fans, two fans leads to four fans, four fans... well, you know it's increasing if anyone of us spread the word abot LC music to younger generations.

In other side... "the notes"? I can't read notes. So it's all about fretboard knowledge, practice, investigation & inspiration.

P.s. Sorry for my little english.

Hello Blackswan,
Thanks for posting on this forum. Sometimes responses may take a wee bit to get but there seems to be an increasing trend of traffic on this website. Although 8 unique visitors have viewed this page today, 50 unique vistors has hit Larry's site today. Not too bad for a fairly new site. Perhaps we can get the admin to make a banner or 2 that we can post on other sites?
